Joel’s Place AmeriCorps Summer of Service (JPSOS) engages 30 young people between the ages of 16 to 25 in service from May 26 until August 14, 2009 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
JPSOS members gain many new skills and local community organizations gain extra program support during the summer months. Most JPSOS Members complete 450 hours of community service each and touch hundreds of lives in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Three of the positions are for Members who would prefer to complete 300 hours of service.
Joel’s Place AmeriCorps Summer of Service supports programs that address other pertinent community issues within these four service areas – education, public safety, health and the environment.
